Homework Questions

"Molly, Penina and Fiyona Nakanyike" by Leslie Alsheimer

1) This is a black and white photo.
2) I can guess that the photographers intentions is to showcase the faces of the people in the bottom right corner.
3) The photographer creates emphasis on the bottom right corner by using the rule of thirds and having a shallow depth of field.
4) Technical matters do help the photo because without the photographer using things like the rule of thirds the focus of the image might not be clear.
5) I dont think that graphic elements such as such as tone, line, and perspective play an extremly important role in this photo.
6) The thing the photo reveals that is not imedietally evident is the thoughts behind the childrens eyes, although it is not revealed right away it is revealed through the other pictures the photographer has added in this series.
7) The emotional impact this photo has is a strong one. It suggest the simpleistic life these kids have by the plain background and also make the veiwer question the thoughts behind the two kids peircing eyes.
8) This photo relates to other photos taken by the photographer at the time by showing the different emotions children of Uganda have.
